ROCKFIELD Rovers had to give second best away to East Gwent 2 leaders Chepstow Town 3rds in their final game, losing 4-1 but still finishing second.
Ben Wiggins scored an 87th-minute consolation after a Monte Wiltshire hat-trick and a Connor Hughes goal had secured the title.
Meanwhile, Chepstow 1sts secured Ardal South East safety following up a 0-0 midweek derby draw with Caldicot with a 2-1 win at bottom side Abertillery Bluebirds on Saturday, Mason Keepin-Davies and Adam Wakley scoring either side of half-time.
But Usk Town finished bottom of Gwent Premier 2 following a 3-1 midweek away loss to Thornwell, Ieaun Evans scoring two for the Chepstow side backed by one from Toby Prettyjohn, while the visitors' consolation came from an own goal.
Thornwell followed up on Saturday with a 4-1 home win over Rassau, Evans with another brace.
But the 2nds had a week of two halves – winning 8-2 at home against basement boys Severn Tunnel thanks to John Danks, Oliver Taylor and Ted Hunt braces and single strikes from Max Luff and Simon McCluskey, only to lose 11-0 away on Saturday to title-chasing Undy 3rds.
Glascoed’s Gwent Central One fixture backlog saw them win 3-0 away to Panteg 2nds thanks to a Gary Phillips penalty and Kevin Andrews and Shane Davies goals, and 4-2 away to Clydach Wasps 2nds, Josh Thomas with a brace, and strikes from Keenan Welch and Jordan Taylor.
But they fell to a 2-0 loss on Saturday away to PILCS 2nds.
But Redbrook Rovers ended their North Gloucestershire 3 campaign with a 4-3 win away to Longhope 2nds, Jayden Makondora, Robert Evans, Adam Morgan and Sam Hamley on target.
