IN THE A league round-up the Huntsman Hotel beat the Severn Bridge Social Club, 4-2 in the singles and 7-2 in the pairs, with Malcolm Rogers of the Severn Bridge Club hitting a 180. Chepstow Football Club 'A' remain on top of both leagues after winning 5-1 in the singles and 6-3 in the pairs away to the Burnt Barn Club 'A'. Chepstow Athletic were victorious with a 5-1 win in the singles and a 9-0 win in the pairs against The Sloop Inn, with the Athletic club's Alison Thornhill hitting a 108 checkout, and Dave Matthews taking out 120. Marc Baynton hit a 180 as his team The Five Alls won 5-1 in the singles and 6-3 in the pairs at the Carpenters Arms. The Kings Head had a good 7-2 pairs victory at Chepstow Football Club 'C' but they could only draw 3-3 in the singles. The Village Inn 'A' had a good night away to Thornwell FC, taking maximum points with a 4-2 singles win, and a 6-3 pairs win. The Five Alls now sit one point above Chepstow Athletics at the top of the Singles league, with the roles reversed in the pairs league where the Athletics team are two points clear.  Next week the league season takes a break as the Mixed Pairs is contested at the Huntsman Hotel in Shirenewton.
