THE National Assembly for Wales' youth engagement team were in Monmouth on Friday with their roadshow bus.
Teamed with Monmouthshire Youth Service, the engagement workshop was parked near Monnow Bridge to gauge young people's opinions on proposed changes to the voting system.
A short questionnaire was available titled "Should the voting age be lowered to 16?" with the results set to be collated and presented to the Senedd on 15th July.
The Monmouthshire Youth Service were present to help the youth engagement team promote its forum Engage 2 Change, which aims to encourage young people to express their opinions and make a difference to the community they live in.
Combined, the two teams were on hand to unbiasedly answer any questions young people might have on the voting system, politics and government in general.
The roadshow was open to everyone, though aimed at 11-25 year olds, taking advantage of half term to get a number of young people along.
More than 200 people have attended over the four events last week around the county.
With the general election on the horizon, young voters are increasingly becoming a key battle ground for political parties and the National Assembly's survey could prove a valuable tool for those in power after the election.
Youth engagement officer for the National Assembly for Wales, Kelly Harris, said: "By working in partnership with Engage to Change, we are able to take the Assembly Bus out to local communities in Monmouthshire which will give more young people the opportunity to take part in this very important national conversation on Votes@16."
