MADAM,
Parliamentary candidate for Monmouth David Davies is quite correct to point out the blatant electioneering of Raglan Lib Dem candidate Alison Willott. Campaigning for accurate information on local buses is perfectly acceptable. Placing a political message and logo on a bus timetable is inappropriate.
However, to refer to this action as vandalism makes one wonder what world our MP lives in. To call this trivial action vandalism and submit it as front page news is ridiculous. The Tories can find genuine vandalism far closer to home.
Starving the NHS of cash is vandalism, cutting benefits to families already in poverty is vandalism, slashing public spending on the false pretext of “austerity” is vandalism. Vandalism is telling us we have a strong and vibrant economy and then driving our public services into the ground.
I urge voters to take these issues into account when voting on 8th June. Vote to save our public services, vote for Labour candidate Ruth Jones.
Stuart Willcock
