TWO Chepstow brothers are celebrating after raising more than £500 for charity by completing the Cardiff Half Marathon.

Twins Tyler and Tudor Morgan-Huggett raised the money for the TOFS charity and hope to raise awareness of a rare birth defect called TOFS (Tracheo-Oesophageal Fistula or Oesophageal Atresia).

Born a minute after his twin, Tudor was soon diagnosed as having a malformation of the gullet and windpipe and has spent much of his 23 years in and out of hospital.

During that period, he has undergone 95 operations but despite the amount of time spent on treatment, Tudor, like Tyler, has proved invaluable to Chepstow Cricket Club and a number of local football clubs.

The idea of running the Cardiff Half was first suggested by the twins’ older brother Chris.

Tyler said raising money for the charity had always been a plan but it was just a case of finding the right way to do so.

“We heard about the run and thought it would be a good way of raising funds and awareness of TOFS,” he said after the race.

“Tudor is my role model and inspiration for all he has been through, he just gets on with living his life as best he can.”

Tyler and Tudor ran together and crossed the line together. Tyler currently holds the club record of 191 for the highest individual batting score and Tudor, who is also partially deaf, is an accomplished and highly- rated bowler at Chepstow CC and also plays for Surrey County’s senior deaf team

Both play for Thornwell Red & White in the East Gwent League Division 1.

Off the field, the twins, who achieved degrees in sport development at Cardiff Metropolitan University, live in Chepstow.

Tyler works for Chepstow Motors Ltd and Tudor works for Next as a transport supervisor.
