TRELLECH Teas have celebrated three years of providing tea and cakes to the community.
Since its launch the event has become a regular Friday fixture.
Over £12,000 has been raised for the Village Hall and the Trellech BIG Weekend (an annual event to celebrate village life in Trellech). Local charities and groups have also benefited via the ’Take Over Teas’ where the group takes over the Teas to help raise funds. This year alone, three groups have raised nearly £800 via this initiative.
"Trellech Teas is a fabulous place to meet up with old friends and make new ones" said Sarah Whiddett, one of the Teas founders.
“There’s a real sense of community about it. Many of the customers are regulars, some just pop in when they can. Our oldest regular is over 90 and there are a few ’Trellech Tea Babies’ we’ve seen grow over the years.
"A huge thank you has to go to the many volunteers who help out - baking and serving - without them the Teas simply wouldn’t happen. And, of course, thank you to our many visitors who have helped raise the money that has benefitted the village - evident not only in the recent upgrade to the Village Hall but also to the ever popular BIG Weekend. Here’s to the next year!".
Trellech Teas meet at Trellech Village Hall (The Babington Centre) every Friday from 2:00pm to 4:30pm. For more information visit www.trellechvillagehall.org.uk
