TRELLECH Village Hall, (The Babington Centre) held its sixth annual apple day on 17th October. This was the first event held at the hall since the refurbishment over the summer. The hall now has a modern heating system, new toilets and kitchen.

The apple day was a huge success due to the hard work and generosity of the  the people of Trellech and the surrounding villages, apples and apple based products were donated by a large number of people. The Narth Gardening Club provided a bring and buy plant stall. Phil Chadwick demonstrated apple pressing, producing delicious apple juice.

Sue Flower and Linda Campbell cooked roast pork with apples in the new oven and a range of soups and vegetarian foods using apples.

A three course lunch to suit every taste was had by many. The event attracted one of the biggest crowds at the hall, all who attended had a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The new dishwasher aided in the post-dinner cleanup considerably.

Marianne Piper the Volunteer co-ordinator from Community Connections attended and met many of the people of  Trellech.
