THE residents of Caldicot should feel safer after 40 people attended a free CPR and automated external defibrillator (AED) training night held at Caldicot fire station last week.

The session was organised by South West Specialist Medics and KMS Ambulance Service to enable members of the community to use the number of AEDs located around the town.

Steven Wakeham, director of South west specialist medics said the training would come as a great boost for the area.

“We had 40 people which is quite a good turnout on such short notice.

“This will be great for the community as it increases the chances of survival for anyone who goes into cardiac arrest.”
