I refer to your headline article ‘Dual carriageway ‘third lane’ a step closer…’ (12th April).

The reason why drivers now suffer delays in approaching Monmouth from the east along the A40 has nothing to do with the absence of a third lane. It is more likely the timing of the traffic lights at the Wyebridge junction have been changed. May I suggest your newspaper establish whether this is the case. It should not then cost £260k to switch the lights back to how they were.
