LAST Saturday (9th November) two reporters from the Beacon went live on Chepstow Radio to an audience of 4,500 listeners, one as far away as Abu Dhabi.

Reporters Laura Watkins and Sarah Bewley broadcast the Beacon Sandwich from a gazebo in Beaufort Square, where they discussed the news of Chepstow.

Alex Stanley said: "I was delighted with the way the live show went on Saturday; we were all in at the deep end but luckily the show went without a hitch and the sun came out too.

"The listening figures were very good, so it's clear that people want to hear local Chepstow news on a Saturday lunchtime.

"I'm proud to be running the Beacon Sandwich as a permanent fixture on Chepstow Radio's Saturday schedule."

Chepstow Radio recently received its FM licence, allowing the radio station to broadcast on digital radio. The FM licence will be valid from Monday 9th December to Sunday 5th January 2014 with audience figures expected to rise from 4,500 to 20,000 during that time.

The Beacon Sandwich will be broadcast every Saturday from 12pm to 1pm on http://www.chepstow">www.chepstow
