On behalf of the Monmouth Royal British Legion I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the National Poppy Appeal in the Monmouth area.

The efforts of our schools, our street collecting volunteers, donations from our churches and the shops and businesses who had poppy boxes on their premises was fantastic. Especial thanks to the people who supplied hot drinks and soup to the stall holders in the square and to the RMRE for putting up and taking down the gazebo each day.

To date the amount raised so far is £15,100.
