Farmers with multiple CPH (county parish holding) numbers are to be hit with the introduction of new rules from DEFRA.
Changes in movement restrictions to combat the disease in Wales will see movement restrictions in TB breakdowns on farmers with more than one CPH number.
From 13th January 2020, TB movement restrictions will apply to herds kept on different parcels of land, covered by more than one CPH number.
At the start of a TB breakdown (or suspected TB breakdown), the APHA (Animal and Plant Health Agency) will initially restrict all temporary and permanent holdings with different CPH numbers under the same cattle business operation.
Unlicensed movements of cattle between the holdings will no longer be possible once a suspected TB infection is found.
Each CPH will be issued with a separate TB2 notice and restrictions will only be lifted after a veterinary risk assessment on the low risk CPHs but kept on the high risk CPHs until all cattle have continued to test clear of TB.
