SEVERAL students from the Royal National College for the Blind (RNCB) were given a unique opportunity to drive tanks at the Tank School, Usk on Saturday 7th March.

Students were guided by instructors through headsets to successfully drive and manoeuvre the tanks.

Alastair Scott, owner of the Tank School, said: "The students had no concept of what a tank looked like so had to walk around and feel it first.

"It was a real pleasure and amazing experience. The students enjoyed themselves and so did our staff. It was a great privilege to teach the students."

Carol Edwards, key personal worker at RNCB, said: "The day went really well, it was an extraordinary opportunity for our students to have a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

"At the college we like to push boundaries for our students and this was something remarkable."

Student Iwan Walker said: "This was the best day of my life."
