I wholeheartedly support Stephen Clarke’s letter (‘Difficult to understand climate change stand’, Beacon letters 27th November) and I’m dismayed that our MP David Davies generally votes against measures to prevent climate change.

Furthermore, his contributions to parliamentary debates and social media accounts indicate his belief that scientific consensus on human-induced climate change is inconclusive and undermine those highlighting the dangers. While David Davies, Boris Johnson, Nigel Farage and Donald Trump may display scepticism over man-made climate change, I feel that their views should not outweigh those of the UN, the OECD, the EU, NASA, and over 97 per cent of climate scientists.

These agree that man-made climate change is with us now and will cause huge damage to communities, countries and the planet.
