A SUNDIAL manufacturer from Clytha has set up a garden at the prestigious RHS Chelsea Flower Show.

The show. which started yesterday (Tuesday 19th May) has a space theme this year, having teamed up with UK and European Space Agencies, which suits Border Sundials perfectly.

The stand aims to reflect the beauty of the galaxy, featuring a type of daisy that evokes memories of the stars, and bold shapes in silver colours including a West Himalayan birch.

The garden is a backdrop for the company's handmade sundials and armillary spheres.

Newport charity Growing Spaces has helped to build Border Sundials' stand. The charity offers therapeutic horticultural training to people with mental health issues.

Capel Hanbury-Tenison of Border Sundials said: "I love exhibiting at Chelsea and have done so for a few years now.

"The space theme is particularly exciting this year. It is great for me because it has perfect synergy with sundials.

"My armillary spheres couldn't have a better theme to showcase them.

"I'm also pleased to be working with the worthy charity Growing Spaces and local horticulturalist, Peter Dowle of Howle Hill Nursery who is supplying a gorgeous West Himalayan Birch tree for my stand.

We are just hoping the sun shines for the rest of the week!"
