I want to thank all friends and neighbours who helped organise such a successful NGS Open Garden afternoon at Birch Tree Well.

A sumptuous tea was provided by Harriet Mulvaney raising £368 on behalf of Beat SCAD and, with almost 150 visitors during the afternoon, £590 was raised for the National Garden Scheme charities.

Tom Rigby and the Penallt Players provided renowned scenes from Shakespeare and Feliks Tabis and Katie lulled us all with cello and harp. Adam Burt Jones’s field was invaluable as a car park with friends skilfully organising the car parking system. Friends also helped with moving chairs, putting up marquees, organising ticket sales and general dogsbody work.

My very grateful thanks also go to Derek Rigby for his invaluable assistance in the garden. Thank you all so very much: brilliant teamwork!
