A MAN has admitted the murder of his stepmother, Anne Jackson.
Timothy Jackson of Market Street, Sheffield appeared at Cardiff Crown Court yesterday (24th February) via video link from HMP Cardiff.
Originally the 49 year old pleaded not guilty to murdering the Usk poet at her home in Little Wentwood Farm on Monday 19th
January.
He changed his plea yesterday and will be sentenced at Cardiff Crown Court on Thursday 26th March.
The 78-year-old died as a result of stab wounds to her chest and neck and was found on Saturday 1st November.
The court heard yesterday how the knife used in the murder was a household knife belonging to the pensioner and that Jackson didn't bring the knife with him to the house.
Judge Neil Bidder QC ordered that Jackson should appear physically in court for sentencing. He said: "This is a public matter and it is important for him to be seen in court for this level of crime."
Belgian-born Anne Jackson wrote under the name Anne Cluysenaar and ran writing workshops in museums, galleries, schools and community centres.
