TINTERN Abbey welcomed

Professor Stephen Hawking to the historic venue on Sunday 12th April.

In an impromptu visit, Professor Hawking posed with visitors for photographs and looked around the 12th Century ruins.

The renowned theoretical physicist and author of "A Brief History of Time" has visited the abbey around this time last year, and his party commented on the good level of wheelchair access found around the Cadw site.
