THE FRIENDS of St John’s on-the-Hill School’s fashion show raised £177 for UK stroke charity the Phoenix Project.

The event which took place on Friday 13th May at St John’s on-the-Hill School, in Chepstow, showcased the latest Spring and Summer collections from Chepstow boutiques Eden Rose, Runway and Viva Couture.

In addition to local clothes shops taking part in the catwalk shows there was an indoor market with artisan jewellery, hats and local art on sale.

Event organiser and image consultant and stylist, Brigitte Ward, said: “We decided to raise money for the Phoenix Project as one of our former pupil’s parents, Nick Cann, benefits greatly from this charity after suffering a stroke three years ago.

"The Phoenix Project helps people to rebuild their lives with speech therapy, physio therapy and support to get back to work, if possible.

“The event also helps support local businesses, we want people to shop in Chepstow and raise awareness of some of the wonderful shops on our doorstep.

"Our models wore a mix of casual, smart and evening wear to suit all shapes and sizes.”
