CHEPSTOW School students have shipped more than 250 shoeboxes to Eastern Europe as part of an annual partnership with Chepstow Rotary Club.
Assistant head teacher Jamie Goddard, who oversees the project said: “We ask year seven, eight and nine to fill shoeboxes with items such as jewellery, stationary, small games, toiletries and other such bits and pieces.
“They are delivered to Eastern European orphanages and opened on Christmas day.
“There is a powerful message to think and support young children who are less fortunate than others and how they really appreciate items that we take for granted.
“The students respond every year and fill so many boxes which make a real difference to the orphans.
“Its incredible to see how the students respond.”
