USK Church in Wales primary school held a sponsored walk at Llandegfedd Reservoir last week.

The school was invited by Llanbadoc Community Council to be the first school to experience the new six-and-a-half-mile circular trail of Llandegfedd Reservoir.

Key Stage 2 pupils took part in a three-mile sponsored walk, which will help raise money for a defibrillator.

Head teacher Victoria Evans said: "In addition to the financial benefits to the school from this sponsored activity, the walk will promote healthy activity, physical fitness and an appreciation of our local countryside.

"Llandegfedd Reservoir is a beautiful location, offering stunning views and scenic trails to walk. Bustling with wildlife, the walk promises to be fun and educational, as the pupils try to spot as many species of wildlife as possible!”

"I’m sure all children and parents who took part in the exciting adventure enjoyed themselves, while helping to raise money for such a worthwhile cause."

Parent Olivia Beaumont, who is also clerk of Llanbadoc Community Council, added: “We would like to thank Welsh Water for supporting the event. It’s been a great success. The weather was good and the pupils really enjoyed themselves.”
