In the run up to this year's Firework Display, Chepstow and District Round Table has once again issued a challenge to all budding artists at the town's primary schools to design a poster reflecting the theme for this year's fireworks display "Fun at The Fireworks".
The school of the pupil judged to have produced the best poster will receive a cheque for £250 to spend as they wish and the winning artist will be the VIP guest of Round Table for the evening, gaining free entry to the event for themselves and their family. The winner will also lead the countdown to the start of the display and enjoy free food, drinks and carnival rides.
The Fireworks Display, supported by Chepstow Town Council and Chepstow School, who have given permission once again for the display to take place, will be held on Tuesday 5th November. The cost of entry will be held again for this year at £5 for adults, £3 for children and £15 for a family ticket for two adults and two children.
The proceeds from the display will be shared amongst deserving charities in Chepstow and the surrounding district, and in this their 50th year Round Table want this popular event to be the best ever.
Organiser of the event, Mark Vickery, said that: "running an event like this strains the limited manpower resources available to the Round Table but what spurs us all on is the opportunity to boost the funds in our charity account and to spend those funds throughout the coming year".
Round Table is an organisation of men aged between 18 and 45 who meet each month for fun and social events but then raise funds in the local communities they serve, giving back those funds to that community.
