CHEPSTOW residents joined forces to raise over £500 for Diabetes UK through the Big Collection. The Big Collection is a nationwide fundraising event that took place from 13th June to 15th June. Enthusiastic volunteers collected donations and helped raise awareness of the condition. Elizabeth O'Sullivan, team leader for the collection at Chepstow Tesco, said: "I would personally like to thank all of the volunteers who gave up their time to help collect donations over the weekend. "With their support we've raised £545 for Diabetes UK. "We had a fun weekend and the volunteers did a great job spreading some cheer in store." Diabetes UK Cymru's director, Dai Williams, said: "We are delighted that so many people from the community came together to support the Big Collection in Chepstow. "We'd like to thank the volunteers for getting into the fundraising spirit and making the weekend so enjoyable. "We're grateful to the Tesco customers for their kind donations."
