TORRENTIAL rain didn’t dampen the spirits of residents at The Reddings sheltered scheme in Bulwark last week.
Monmouthshire Housing Association’s (MHA) Community Investment Team arranged an afternoon of live music and high tea for the residents.
Friends and residents alike attended the event, which began with a topical number, Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head sang by a talented guitarist from a local project, Music In Hospitals.
The event, partially funded by MHA’s Making It Happen grant scheme, was also topped up by funding from MHA’s Community Investment Team. In addition to the grant they arranged transport and refreshments so that fellow residents from the Plas Mawr housing scheme in Usk could join in.
For over an hour the 37 attendees sang along to a variety of hits from Elvis, Cliff Richard and Frank Sinatra to name but a few. The party atmosphere continued after the music with sandwiches and cakes that certainly chased the blue weather away.
Resident, Carole Court, said: “We’re having a blast, thank you for organising such a superb afternoon!”
