USK Show welcomed 18,000 visitors through the gate on Saturday (10th September).
Despite wet conditions through the morning and early afternoon, people travelled far and wide to exibit, compete, or enjoy the day’s events.
Displays included visits from local hunts, falconry, the Welsh Axemen and the popular Kangaroo Kid stunt team.
Entries in the cattle and sheep were up and the homecraft and horticulture sections saw a “fantastic” array of new entrants.
Show secretary Faye Mear said that the quality was very good throughout, the schools class in homecraft saw more than 200 entries this year.
“We were not surprised our numbers were down with the weather but we saw increased entries in many sections’” she added.
“The Usk RFC touch rugby tournament was fantastic and well supported, showcasing the importance of rugby in our area,” she said.
Best in show in the horse section was Richard Williams from Catbrook with Spinway Blackthorn.
