CHEPSTOW Hospital patients are being made to wait weeks for the result of X-rays, prompting concerns from Monmouth Assembly Member Nick Ramsay.

Mr Ramsay has asked the Aneurin Bevan University Health Board’s Chief Executive Judith Paget to explain why Chepstow patients have to wait so long before receiving results of X-rays, after receiving a complaint from a Chepstow constituent who had injured his ankle in a cycling accident.

“My constituent went to see his GP who sent him for an X-ray at Chepstow hospital on 3rd September,” he said. “He couldn’t believe it when he was told he would have to wait four weeks for the result of the X-ray to be made available.

“This surely is excessive, particularly when a patient has suffered a break or fracture that may need intervention.

“I find it hard to believe that patients attending other X-ray departments, such as Nevill Hall, would have to wait so long before receiving their results.

“I look forward to receiving an explanation for this painful delay.”
