THE Great Gwent Poppy Run has been transformed into a brand new event for 2015.
On 25th October, the newly titled Military Madness will see participants take on a challenging cross country course at the Tank School, Usk.
The run starts with a 200 meter run across no man's land, before scaling a trench, going over the top to begin the military themed course.
Recognising major battles in Welsh history, runners will crawl under the wire defences and then run towards Mametz woods before making their way through smoke, climbing mud banks and sliding into the water of Rorkes Drift.
Finally, runners will have to run through a "minefield" to the finish line.
All who complete the course will get a free, specially designed t-shirt and automatic entry into a prize draw to win a tank driving experience day. Entry costs £25 and all profits will go to the Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal.
There are only 200 places available in total. To register, visit http://www.britishlegion.org.uk/greatgwentrun">www.britishlegion.org.uk/greatgwentrun
