Monmouth and the Borderlands Society of Authors group held a highly successful ‘Poetry for the Planet’ event on Wednesday 16th October at the White Swan Tea Room.

Poems, written especially for the occasion on the theme of climate change, were greatly appreciated by the audience. £125 was raised for The World Land Trust for the purchase of one-and-a-quarter acres of threatened habitat in Columbia. Thus it will be protected: saved from cattle ranching and development, ultimately becoming a nature reserve in perpetuity.

The group would like to offer their grateful thanks to Mary of the White Swan and her team for their enthusiasm, not only for the event, but also for their splendid refreshments.

Another event is in the process of being planned for 2nd May. Croesi!
