ON Saturday 17th March at 7pm at the Drill Hall, pupils from the Chepstow Piano Academy will join the Chepstow Chatelaines and the Singing Club to help raise money for the Chepstow Piano Fund.

This is a community event celebrating the best of Chepstow’s musical talent and it will be dedicated to the memory of Karl Daymond who died suddenly last summer.

The programme will be varied and fun, and organisers are sure there will be something for everyone. Yvonne Lewis will be directing the young pianists and Jayne Thomas will be directing the singers; a role she has taken on after Karl’s passing.

Taking part in the event will be a number of young pianists, who over the weekend of 10th and 11th March competed in a variety of classes at the Bristol Festival of Music, Speech and Drama. Jemima Leaf won the Parsons Trophy for the 11 and under jazz style class, and other successful pianists included Bruno Chitnis and Osian Jessop (second, duet class), Lowri Player (second, 13 and under recital class) and Millie Lewis (third, 11 and under recital class.)

Tickets are available at the door or from the Chepstow Bookshop for £8 and £5 for under 12s.
