THE volunteers at Oxfam Monmouth gathered last week to say farewell to one of their number after 12 years of dedicated service.
Carol Cripwell has been volunteering at Oxfam Monmouth five days a week for twelve years and never missed a shift.
“Carol was brilliant at steaming the clothes and we miss her terribly”, said Carol Jones the shop manager.
“Without Carol’s dedication and hard work we would not have made as much money to end poverty and suffering. Also on many occasions the shop was only open because Carol was available to make up the numbers, we owe her a great deal,” she added.
The shop team presented Carol with a certificate and specially written poem, together with a large bunch of flowers. Everyone then tucked into tea and home-made cake.
