Pennie Walker, the new Outreach Development Worker for Monmouthshire County Council was welcomed into the Asda Distribution depot by Mandy Chambers, Events Co-ordinator and Community Champion for Asda Logistic Services.
Pennie's role is to build links in the community on two fronts; to engage with and cultivate those from a diverse cultural background who live and work within the community; the other is reaching out to those who may experience both mental and physical challenges on a daily basis.
Her visit generated lots of interest amongst workers who have settled in South Wales from overseas.
Asda have a strong interest in promoting such an ethos and will be supporting Pennie in the future with a view to networking and introducing the services she is offering within Chepstow, Caldicot, and the surrounding area.
This initiative from Monmouthshire County Council is to promote a greater involvement in the local community.

"I think it's a brilliant service that will open doors to people who may not otherwise have a voice," said Mandy.
