A NINE-YEAR-OLD Bulwark boy has raised £3,000 after completing the Chepstow Stampede last Saturday (24th October).

Determined Noah Herniman has become an avid fundraiser for the children’s charity Sparkle who support thousands of children with severe and complex disabilities.

Noah went to Chepstow Racecourse to take part in the children’s race where he ran one mile for the charity.

Noah has neurofibromatosis, a genetic disorder which affects the nervous system and the development of nerve tissues. This causes tumours to develop on the nerves and can cause other abnormalities.

Noah attends Serennu Children’s Centre, supported by Sparkle, for regular physiotherapy.

Proud mum Shelley Herniman, said: “The first thing Noah said to me after completing the race was ‘What shall I do next?’

“I was speechless on the day and was really proud of how well he did. He just went for it, nothing was going to stop him.”

Over the year Noah has raised the £3,000 by making and selling loombands and walking over the Severn Bridge and back.

Lisa Pearson, business development manager at Sparkle, said: “We are extremely proud of Noah and what he has achieved in fundraising for Sparkle.

“To raise £3,000 is an accomplishment for anyone and his passion and determination really makes him a Sparkle star.

“As the Serennu Children’s Centre’s official charity we have to raise more than £400,000 every year to fund the vital services we support.

“This is only possible thanks to people like Noah and his family and the help of the general public, so we are very grateful.”
