THE Post Office is opening a new Post Office ‘local’ service at Spar, Blakemore Retail, Beachley Road, Sedbury, Chepstow, NP16 7AA.

The service, which launches at a date to be confirmed in the near future, will be provided at a Post Office serving point in the store, where the Post Office terminal will sit alongside the retail till. Robust security procedures will be in place, and anyone handling Post Office transactions, including new staff, will be fully trained on all operational and service issues, including customer privacy to ensure they meet Post Office standards.

Post Office services will be available, seven days a week, during the store’s opening hours. The branch will open earlier and close later every day.

The Spar store is run by family-owned convenience store operator Blakemore Retail. Blakemore Retail Post Office Controller Stewert Waldron said: “As a community retailer we are delighted to offer post office services in our convenience stores. Local residents will now be able to access a wide range of Post Office services during our shop opening hours, 64 hours a week more than previously offered.”

The new Sedbury Post Office will be delighted to welcome customers to the new branch.  Local residents and small business customers will be able to access the wide range of Post Office and mails services.

Will Russell, regional manager said: “We are making it easier for customers to get their cash, send and collect their mail and do their banking because we know how important these services are to local residents.

“The modernisation is part of a major Government investment programme that is enabling us to continue investing in the Post Office network and to map out a bold growth strategy through to the end of the decade.”
