YOUNG auctioneer Will Probert has been awarded the Farmers Guardian ‘New Auctioneer of the Year’ award in their 2016 Marts the Heart awards.
Will graduated from Harper Adams last year and joined the Ross-on-Wye auction centre, having grown up on the family farm.
“I spent countless hours at markets from a young age, which was a driver behind my desire to pursue this career” he added.
“I thrive off the ringside atmosphere and love the early morning start on sale day, greeting vendors, buyers and clients. Auctioneering is not just a career, but a way of life, and I encourage like-minded people into the industry at every chance, despite ongoing challenges in the sector.”
Richard Williams, Director at RG and RB Williams at Ross was pleased to hear the news Will was awarded the Best New Auctioneer of the Year by the Farmers Guardian.
“William has been working for us on and off for several years and joined full time in the business in September 2015. He is a highly capable, competent young man who thoroughly deserves this award.
“He works tremendously hard in the business and is actively involved in the cattle market and also the professional side of the operation.
“He undoubtedly has a great career ahead of him, and hopefully it will be with us.”
