A 12 hour music marathon has been organised at Wye Dean School to raise awareness of Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS).
The event is part of a 13 day national campaign set up by the family of Caerwent teenager, Natasha Scott Falber who passed away after contracting TSS.
The music marathon was arranged by friend of Natasha, Laura Chimes.
"Natasha loved music and I wanted to organise something that reflected that" said the 17-year-old.
"When I heard about the campaign set up by Natasha's family, I wanted to contribute. I wanted to organise something that would stand out and I heard about a music marathon which I thought would be perfect for Natasha.
"The marathon is running from 9am to 9pm and will feature lots of local bands and individual performances."
The event will be held on Thursday 19th February at Wye Dean School where symptom cards will be distributed to raise awareness of TSS.
"Natasha was always welcoming to everyone she met and was such a light in my life."
This Saturday (14th February) the TSS awareness campaign will kick off with a fun run at Tintern Old Railway station and ends with a gala concert at Newport Centre on Thursday 26th February featuring a performance from The Wurzels.
