MADAM,

How kind and thoughtful of you Mr Geddes to be concerned about our poor and aggressive driving in Monmouth.

Having graduated with flying colours from “Monmouth Little White Haired Ladies” driving school I feel you haven’t given us full recognition. I can’t wait for the pinching of “The Pinch” after all, we had a trial for this latest “trial run” when there was abundant scaffolding on one of the buildings.

You must appreciate that we have different customs here in Monmouth. We enjoy double parking and flinging ourselves off the pavement with disregard to traffic approaching from behind. We do try to park our 4x4’s with one wheel on the pavement and try to take up two spaces whenever we can.

It is a matter of personal pride.

You’re obviously not very familiar with Monmouth because for aggressive driving the pinnacle is in Hereford Road at school going home times where they already operate a “pinch” system along with day time parking which is a great help and I just love it.
