MONMOUTH People First would like to express their thanks and appreciation to the staff and proprietor Mr Miah of the Misbah restaurant, Priory Street, Monmouth, for hosting a charity buffet on behalf of the organisation on 6th December.

The group were grateful for the community support by those who joined them for the evening, which helped make it a great success with excellent food and company. They were welcomed and hosted by Mr Miah who kindly supported them to hold a raffle too.

Monmouth People First have been fundraising within the community for a disability hand cycle for disabled people in Monmouth. Prior to the buffet they were £500 short of their £4200 target.

The proceeds of the meal brought the group much closer to the target and they were delighted when Mr Miah offered to make up the difference.

A statement from the group said: “We feel we are very lucky to have a restaurant in our community that not only serves great food but also supports local causes so generously.”
