MADAM,
It is great that the council has put aside money to update the playground on Chippenham Mead and that many people are engaging in discussion on how best to do this.
I believe that the current position is poor because of its remoteness and closeness to the dual carriageway. The isolation draws antisocial behaviour and graffiti and the road is noisy, polluting and a health issue. Revamping the existing site would provide a good playground but the issues with the remoteness and the road would still persist.
Given the opportunity, it seems madness not to move the facility to a more accessible and child friendly position. It could then be a fantastic place that the children of Monmouth enjoy and look forward to visiting and where families are confident that their children are playing in a safe and healthy environment.
