STRONG winds have forced the closure of the M48 Severn Bridge.

The road is closed eastbound between Junction 2 on the A466 for Chepstow and Junction 1 for the A403 at Aust.

The M4 Second Severn Crossing remains open and traffic from the M48 bridge is being diverted over this bridge.
