THE Hood Memorial Hall in Devauden is celebrating having raised more than £18,500 for local good causes.

Villagers in Devauden are given the chance to nominate an annual charity for the hall to support by completing a ‘Have your say’ leaflet.

The Severn Area Rescue Association (SARA) has extra special links to the Hood Memorial Hall as provider of essential first aid facilities at the annual 10K Races, bonfire night and music festival. As a thank you, and in recognition of the vital services they provide to the local area, the hall has to date donated more than £7,000 to SARA, monies raised by the 10K Races and a number of charity auctions.

The latest cheque for more than £1,200 was handed over to Louellan Brown from SARA by Devauden residents Frankie Williams, Paul Williams and Judy Wasdell.
