The 9th annual Kymin Dash organised by Spirit of Monmouth took place on Sunday 16th April 2023. The event has grown year on year, it has become a popular event on the racing calendar for runners across the South West to take on the challenging run up to The Roundhouse.

The race supports a different charity each year and this year it was the Ted Senior Foundation, which is a local charity close to the hearts of many and a very worthy cause. We are really pleased to confirm the Running Club has been able to donate £750 to the charity which has been matched by Barclays with a further donation of £750 taking the total to £1,500.

Since the race was resurrected by the local running club back in 2013, the club has supported nine local charities donating in total £10,950 with an additional generous contribution from Barclays Bank who are the employer one of the race director’s Emma King taking the total that has been donated to over £20,150. With the club aiming to donate more than £20,000 to charities by the time the 10th anniversary of the race arrives in 2024, we are proud to say we have exceeded our expectations, achieving this amount with 1 year to go.

This year’s donation will ensure that the Ted Senior Foundation can continue their excellent work championing good mental health and working to prevent suicide. David Mather Club Chairman from Spirit of Monmouth Running Club would like to thank all involved with the Kymin Dash over the years making it so successful and of course to our fantastic sponsors with some new companies joining Team Kymin Dash this year, also Special mention to Emma King’s employer Barclays Bank for matching £750.00 of the amount donated and for their on-going support since 2013.

Thank you to A-Plan Insurance, Evans of Monmouth, Emma’s Country Cakes, Walford Timber and Ludus Gym along with all the other local businesses that have supported The Kymin Dash your support is greatly appreciated.

This year we say a fond farewell to one of our race directors Emma King who has been involved with the Kymin Dash since day 1, Emma’s support and enthusiasm has been outstanding, and we would like to say a big thank you and wish her well.
