WYE Valley star Kate Humble (pictured) has announced that she’ll be publishing a new cook book based on recipes featured on her Escape to the Farm TV show and dreamt up in her kitchen.

The Tintern-based presenter, who is back on our screens with a repeat airing of her BBC2 Back to the Land series profiling rural entrepreneurship, has announced she’s releasing Home Cooked: Recipes from the Farm.Unveiling the new book, she posted: "Today is a very big day and I am incredibly excited to announce Home Cooked, my first cookery book!"Inspired by Escape to the Farm and all your wonderful comments and message following the show, it’s a collection of simple, seasonal, home cooked recipes."And she later added: "It’s very nerve-wracking announcing a new book, but I’ve been blown away by all your wonderful comments about Home Cooked!"â The cook book is due out next February and is described as "a celebration of simple, seasonal home cooking full of flavour, comfort and joy"."With more than 100 recipes from Kate Humble’s kitchen table, this is food to share from breakfast time to the evening meal - for lazy days, busy weeknights or gatherings, and everything in between," says its publisher.Gaia, part of the Octopus Publishing Group, will be publishing the book in February 2022, signed copies of which are available for pre-order. It says that alongside photography by Andrew Montgomery, the title will feature recipes inspired by Kate’s rural life at home in the wye Valley and the popularity of cooking segments on her TV programmes.It contains seasonal dishes, with the spring selection including a ham sandwich on beer bread with piccalilli, spring chicken with wild garlic and new potatoes, and rhubarb vodka.Publisher Stephanie Jackson said: "Home Cooked is everything you might expect from Kate Humble: it’s generous, engaging and connected to the countryside."It’s full of pleasingly simple and properly delicious food, you’ll want to cook from it again and again (as I have) - and share it with others, too."Kate’s audience has been asking for this book for a long time, and we’re hugely proud she’s entrusted us with publishing her first cookbook."Octopus has previously published two of Humble’s narrative books under it’s Aster imprint: Thinking on My Feet (2018) and A Year of Living Simply (2020).
