JOURNALIST Nigel Heath, who provides a monthly travel feature for the Beacon Blog, has just published The Graylings Reckoning on Amazon Kindle Store.

It’s a sequel to his first offering, The Graylings Rising, which told the story of a man who camped in a field with a herd of black steers only to wake up and find he had become one of them and would soon be carted off for slaughter

Amazingly he survives only to find himself drawn back into this nightmare in another guise as revealed in The Graylings Reckoning.

Nigel took as his original inspiration the case of The Tamworth Two.

These porkers caused a world-wide news sensation when they broke out of an abattoir in Wiltshire and went on the run to the delight of a nation of bacon sandwich lovers. They were eventually caught but reprieved.

The Graylings Reckoning is another light hearted fantasy runaway romp across the English countryside which again gently probes and attempts to reconcile this paradox.
