MADAM,

I would be grateful if I could just remind people that this coming Sunday is carnival Sunday.

This year we have all sorts of attractions including morris dancers and a Batala Band, as well as a puppet workshop which will be held in Monmouth Priory from 9.30am.

It is not too late to enter the carnival with either a float or as a walker. See the website for details, www.monmouthcarnival.com or just register on the day from 12pm in St Mary’s Churchyard.

There will also be the John Blake Shield awarded for the best vintage car entry.

The long-range weather forecast is good, giving it as warm and dry, so come on, get cracking on those costumes and help make this year’s carnival the best one ever.
