A NINE-YEAR-OLD boy will be walking over the Severn Bridge and back for charity.

Noah Herniman from Bulwark will be donning his walking boots on Easter Sunday to raise money for Sparkle, the charity of Serennu Children's Centre, Newport, a place very close to Noah's heart.

Noah has neurofibromatosis, a genetic disorder which affects the nervous system and the development of nerve tissue causing tumours to develop on nerves. This can cause other abnormalities.

The tumours may be harmless or can compress nerves and other tissue causing serious damage. The tumours may also cause bumps under the skin and cause bone problems.

Noah has been attending the centre for four years to receive physiotherapy.

Last year Noah raised £100 for the charity by selling loom bands he made himself and is looking forward to raising more funds for the charity that provides care, treatment and activities for children with physical disabilities as well as support for those on the autistic spectrum.

Shelley Herniman, Noah's mum, said: "Noah is my sunshine child and he is so loving, caring and funny. Nothing is too much for him and he is always the first to help or say something completely bonkers. Anyone who meets Noah will walk away smiling.

"Noah is an inspirational child and never complains."

Lisa Pearson, business development manager at Sparkle, said: "On behalf of Sparkle, I would like to thank Noah and his family for all their handwork and effort in raising money for Sparkle.

"Noah is an exceptional child and his passion to help others is remarkable. We wish him the best of luck on his walk and look forward to supporting him in all his future ventures."

Noah said: "I want to say a really, really, really, very gigantic thank you to everyone who is supporting me."

Noah has so far raised more than £500 in sponsorship.
