A CLIMBER who fell from the Wintour’s Leap cliff face near Chepstow was removed to safety by lifeboat.
SARA rescuers were called to assist at approximately 1.30pm on Sunday (August 9).
Gloucestershire Fire and Rescue Service requested a boat extraction so they launched two of their lifeboats.
SARA posted that the tide was quite low, so they used a smaller SARA Lifeboat seven to get a basket stretcher to the firefighters on the bank.
The lifeboat crew then worked with the fire crew to move the casualty down the mud to the lifeboat along with one of the HART team paramedics.
Once safely onboard they were then transferred onto the larger SARA lifeboat which conveyed them down the Wye to the Beachley slipway and a waiting ambulance.
