CALDICOT School pupils were praised by staff and parents for achieving a total of 84 A*/A grades at A-level. The number of students reaching the top grades increased for the second year in a row with more than a third of pupils achieving two or more A* to B grades. Star pupil Ella Greenhalgh achieved two As and one B and will study history at Royal Holloway University of London. Ella said: "I'm so pleased about my results. I'm not going out celebrating tonight as I'm going on holiday to Prague. "I'll be celebrating there." Elizabeth Morgan Owen received one A*, one A and two Bs and will study maths at Cardiff University. "I was so nervous before receiving my results, I revised a lot for my exams. "My mum has organised a special surprise for me, so I'll find out how I'm celebrating later on." With three Bs, Rebecca Byrne is set to study human biology at Loughborough University. "Leading up to the exams was so stressful," said Rebecca, "No one was allowed to speak to me for a week. "I'm happy with my results and will be celebrating in Cardiff later." Deputy headteacher, Simon Rees, said: "This set of results is the culmination of a determined effort by the students, staff and parents and is a reward for two years of hard work."
