DEVAUDEN 10k race has been hailed a great success by both runners and organisers.
350 competitors packed into the village to tackle the course, with four races of varying distances designed to allow runners of all ages to take part.
TV personality, Lisa Rogers, was on hand to see the runners on their way.
Organiser, John Brooks said: "There were way more competitors on the day than any of us expected.
"We had 42 children tackle the seven to eight-year-old's race, and 30 in the six and under category.
"There were three 70 years olds taking part, and many others in their 60s. Everyone had a really great time."
Racers were aiming to finish the course in a time of less than one hour, to be in with a chance of winning an acclaimed 'under 60 club' tshirt, but the surprisingly high numbers meant there weren't enough to go around.
John added: "Last year, we had 71 runners come in under one hour, and this year, there were 115!
"We'd also like to say a big thank you to the cadets of the Royal Monmouthshire Royal Engineers, and the Rifles, as well as the Severn Area Rescue Association and local volunteers, for help with safety, route marshalling and car parking."
The day was enjoyed by competitors and family members, as visitors enjoyed music from local band 'The Life of Riley,' as well as maypole dancing.
