ORGANISERS of Castell Roc’s Monsters of Roc event are asking for the public’s help to arrange the night’s line-up.

Inspired by the famous Monsters of Rock festivals held at Donnington Park during the 1980s and 90s, Castell Roc has arranged for three well-known tribute bands to appear on stage.

However, a decision can’t be made as to what order they should appear and want festival-goers to help.

Bearded wonders “The ZZTops” have been described by the original band as “the closest we’ve seen”.

The unique three man tribute to rock music’s best known Texan boogie band, complete with their real beards, the crazy guitars, the moves and the hot-rodded rock ’n’ roll, are busy touring the UK and Europe.

Letz Zep are officially the number one tribute to Led Zeppelin with legendary Zep frontman Robert Plant commenting that watching the band was like watching himself onstage. His comment in a Q Magazine interview was, “I walked in, I saw me”.

Both Jimmy Page and Robert Plant have attended gigs by Letz Zep, and were suitably impressed, so much so that they invited Letz Zep to perform at the launch party for Led Zeppelin’s Mothership album.

Hells Bells are an accomplished AC/DC tribute band who have performed all over the UK as well as Portugal, Austria, Russia, Belgium, Czech Republic and the Middle East.

The band provide arguably one of the finest high octane rock shows available – the sort of show that leaves you with a big grin, and usually a sore throat, by the end of the night.

To help the organisers with the dilemma, email your preferred order to [email protected] with the headliner last.

The show starts at 6.30pm on Friday 21st August at Chepstow Castle and the Beacon has a pair of tickets to give away.

To enter the competition, fill in the coupon in this week’s paper with the correct answer and send it in to the Beacon at 56 Monnow Street, Monmouth, NP25 3XJ by Friday 7th August.
