The upholstered chairs for St Michael’s church, Mitchel Troy finally arrived last Thursday, October 7, after a 20 month wait.

They arrived in time for Harvest Festival on Sunday, October 10, which was attended by 34 adults and 8 children.

The new, renovated church was in full use and parishioners were enjoying each other’s company after the service, with a barbecue. Positive feedback was received about the church in its finished state, as well as the comfort of the chairs.

All non-perishable goods from the harvest festival have been taken to Monmouth food bank with much of the perishable goods being converted into chutney to sell in aid of the food bank.

Donations of some £157 have been sent to the Trussell Trust.

The final church yard clear up of the year has been organised for October 30.

The church is also holding a special service which takes a look at climate change on November 7.
